ABOUT US

I started work in the roofing industry some 40 years ago at Dominion Sheet Metal and Roofing and was trained in the art of installing flat roofs made of hot asphalt, felts and pea gravel. Later I became familiar with single ply membranes such as EPDM and  TPO, and two ply modified bitumen 'torch down' membranes.
Shingle roofs were not to my liking but I got to know all about them as my career progressed and have installed more than a few myself.
I graduated to a sales position, measuring roof areas and reading Architectural Drawings for large High Rise and Commercial and Industrial new construction projects. I had my own roofing company for a while, primarily a repair business for residential properties. Sometimes I look like a roofer but dress up well in a suit.
I always get on the roof to do my job and investigate all the details that, correctly done, will provide for a secure and waterproof system. I identify all deficiencies and specify what needs to be done.
I inspect residential roofs when a homeowner wants to know if the roof is sound or needs repairs or needs a new one, or contrary to a roofers opinion, you don't need to do anything. I will estimate how long the roof will last.
If a new roof is in place, I inspect that too. I help my clients navigate the mine field of buying a new roof, from the initial inspection, review of quotations and inspection of completed work.
My advice is this; Always get three quotations. Never pay a cash deposit. Only pay a deposit when materials arrive on site. Never pay in full until the roof is judged sound, and not with cash.
We are not connected to a roofing company, do not recommend and do not do the work, but always carry some caulking and a few shingles for small temporary repairs, usually at no extra charge
The Company is Liability Insured. Fall Protection Certified. A Metrolinx Contractor. WSIB Compliant. Carson Dunlop. Our reports are recognised by major insurance companies.
Roofing is like Forrest Gumps' box of chocolates, 'You never know what you're going to get'.

 Dave.
